A change of scenery ...

While this isn't really breaking news ... wanted to let anyone in the St. Louis area know that I'm officially moving from self-employed to "employed". Thanks to all that have supported LCM Research for over 15 years ... basically, I just want to do the stuff I like (coding, troubleshooting), and have a bit more time left over for important stuff (family). Anyway, here is my "official" release:

I’m accepting a position with IT Architechs (www.itarchitechs.com), an IT consulting firm that services clients in MO and IL. I’ll be primarily doing some development work, and am excited to be able to concentrate on .NET development, as well as additional opportunities to learn Sharepoint Development. IT Architechs provides software and hardware services to multiple clients in the Metro St. Louis area.

Again, it has been fun ... on to new things!

(And yes, spammers, I'll probably be keeping this blog up, and periodically deleting your idiotic posts! <G>)

RadGrid makes managing data easy!

I've been working with Telerik's RadTools set of components for over 2 months, and keep finding new things to like. Stuff that used to take me hours to code in Classic ASP I can now accomplish in under an hour.

For example, I can setup a SQL Datasource, drop in an instance of RadGrid, bind it to the datasource, and presto ... I have an editable grid. Add features like sorting and grouping, it really makes things easy!

Coding with kids (dangers of)

Left my home office for a minute today, came back and found that my daughter had "helped" me with a membership issue in asp.net ...

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<configuration>
<system.web>
<authorization>
<allow roles="user" /> ,, ,mk,mk,m,mm,m,,,,,m,mm,m,m,m mnmkmkj,,,m,kkkk nnmmkj,,mkj ,jkb kjb
<deny users="*" />
</authorization>
</system.web>
</configuration>

I didn't test, but don't think this will work too well!

Yes, we provide PC Tech Support for the St. Louis Area

Occassionally I'm asked if I can:

  • Setup a small network
  • Troubleshoot balky PCs
  • Recover Lost Data
  • Setup Automated Backups
  • Spec New Hardware and software
  • Provide Training and Support

And of course the answer is yes! I've been in business for over 15 years, and have extensive experience in these matters. Plus, we can often use our remote control software to remotely diagnose your PC! Email (lmrazek@lcm-res.com) or call 314-432-5886 for more information.
